Day 11

Day 11

Did some technique in the morning, we had a look at uchi komi in particular uchi mata, and how the Japanese players use their hips in particular. We also looked at the old nagi komi mats  which the uke stands in the middle of and the tori throws from the outside of the circle which gives the correct distance between the 2 bodies. Whilst we were training all the first year students turned up and they each collected a broom from the changing rooms, got in a long line and proceeded to sweep the judo mats to make sure they were clean for practice on the evening, this is done every day by the first tears.

Randori tonight was again the usual hard randori, with the only difference being that the ne waza was done first.
