Uchi Komi

Simple exercise – Choose 4 techniques and do Uchi Komi for 5 minutes. Stay relaxed think about keeping your technique clean make sure your hands and wrists are kept flexible and try and maintain a rhythm with the same number of steps in and out of each technique. This is helping one of our students to take the stiffness out of his judo and to stay relaxed, this for me is one of the most difficult things to do, whilst doing uchi komi, nage komi and randori. Its not all about strength, you must try and stay relaxed and let your body move in a relaxed and fluid manner.
